I Hate it Here

I'm a socialist. I'm not a socialist out of some love for humanity, or out of any kind of belief in man's better nature. On the contrary, I think you're all a bunch of moronic, lying, rotting filth; incapable of doing good even in your own self interests. You are, in fact, utterly fucking evil just for the sake of being evil.

So, when you ask me if I think politicians can better decide what should be done with my money than I can, the short answer is, "Yes, they can."

As with most short answers, it doesn't tell the whole truth, though.

You see, while the average politician is a cretinous reptile who'd sell their own fucking mother for a blow-job from a syphilitic crack-whore, that still puts them head and shoulders above most of you. Seriously. The average politician, despite their painfully obvious faults, is both more intelligent and more honest than the general population. Their also more likely to give a shit about other people and more likely to actually understand the issues upon which the decision need to be based.

So, realistically, while I might be capable of making a better decision than the scrofulous animals that sit in the typical representative debating chamber, them making a few crap decisions for me seems a small price to pay to stop the rest of humanity from devolving into the rabid dogs that they are clearly just waiting for the slightest opportunity to become.

Do I worry that I've just said that I like the fact that our elected representatives neither do nor should do what the electors want? I do not. The people are wrong, and they are wrong on so many levels that it is unfathomable to me how anyone could actually be that wrong. The people should fuck off and shut the hell up until they actually get a fucking education and think about the issues involved instead of just getting their opinions off of Paul fucking Holmes.

Now I not actually saying I against democracy here, though I am against all forms of direct democracy. No, I think that representative democracy, while it is, on the whole, a pretty shit system, is still a hell of a lot better than any of the alternatives.

Anyway, back to socialism.

This seems like a good time to introduce what some other people have said on the subject. Well, here's what Albert Einstein had to say. And, at the complete opposite end of both the political and intellectual spectra, here's what Ayn Rand had to say (you'll notice that's an internal link. Rand's words are about half-way down the page I found them on, and I didn't want to make this confusing. You can find the original link here).

So why am I a socialist? Because Capitalism says that human beings are lying, cheating, greedy animals with no greater interest than self-interest. Socialism, on the other hand, says that human beings are lying, cheating, greedy animals with no greater interest than self-interest but we can fix that.

I know which of those worlds I want to live in.
