Un-politically incorrect

Right, so we've all heard how Paul Holmes is a screaming mysogynist racist - or at least plays one on the radio. Personally, I'd like to see him fired, but then again, I thought that before his little 'coming out party,' too. However, that's beside the point, since I've just come across an even more interesting turn of events.

Before Holmesey's little tirade, Mitsubishi Motors was sponsoring his TV show to the tune of a million dollars a year. When they heard about it, they withdrew their sponsorship. Now comes the clever bit - apparently, some people are accusing Mitsi of being 'overly politically correct.'

What the fuck?

Now don't get me wrong here - I'm no particular fan of political correctness, but surely people have every right to be offended when 'the country's leading broadcaster' starts spouting shit like that? And surely, if you're going to defend Holmesey's right to call a spade a nigger, you've also got to accept that Mitsubishi has the right to spend their money wherever the fuck they like.

Isn't it reasonable that Mitsubishi wouldn't want their brand name associated with racism? Whether it was for commercial reasons, or simply because they personally wanted to distance themselves from that sort of shit, surely it should be OK?

But no, apparently, they're just being 'overly politically correct.'

So, and correct me if I'm wrong here, these people are in fact saying that it's OK to be a racist mysogynist, but if you get offended by racism and mysogynism you're an arsehole.

And that, my friends, is why I'm going to slap the next person who proudly tells me how politically incorrect they are.
